About me

I'm a Senior Researcher at the Deep Visual Learning lab at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, with a PhD in Computer Science (summa cum laude) from the University of Santiago de Compostela. My research brings together vision–language models, explainable AI, and human-centered vision to develop methods that are interpretable and grounded in human context.

My current work also explores how AI can support public safety in responsible ways. In PRECRISIS and IAMI, I lead work packages on visual understanding in complex operational environments, with particular attention to reliability and responsible use. I am also a member of the FBK Compliance Group, contributing to institutional work on trustworthy AI practices and data privacy.

Alongside research, I enjoy teaching, mentoring students, and sharing science through initiatives such as Pint of Science. If you are working on computer vision for complex real-world environments, feel free to get in touch!
